Star Scrubbies

Crochet scrubbies are a great way to use up leftover yarn from other projects. You can use these scrubbies to wash yourself or to clean your house. Cotton yarn works best for items like these. You can use any colors your heart desires. At the bottom of the post, I have some tips for using different colors, including red, white and blue stars.

Supplies:
Category 4/Worsted weight cotton yarn
US Crochet hook H-8 (5.00 mm)
Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:
YO = Yarn Over
Ch = Chain
SC = Single Crochet
HDC = Half-double Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
TR = Treble Crochet

Size: Approximately 4 inches from point to point

Bobble instructions: [YO, insert hook and pull up a loop, yo, pull through first 2 loops on the hook] FIVE times. You will now have 6 loops on your hook. YO and pull yarn through all loops on the hook.

Ch 2

Round 1: 5 SC in the first chain, join with a slip stitch to the first SC

Round 2: Ch 2, Bobble in the same stitch, ch 3. * Bobble, ch 3 * around, join - 5 Bobbles

Round 3: Ch 2. [Bobble, ch 3, Bobble, ch 1]  in same ch 3 space, * Bobble, ch 3, Bobble, ch 1* in each ch 3 space around, join - 10 Bobbles

Round 4: Ch 1. * SC, HDC, 2 TR, DC, HDC, SC * in each ch 3 space around, placing 1 SC in each ch 1 space. Join to first SC, fasten off and weave in all ends.

Be creative and have some fun with these scrubbers by making them in any color your heart desire. To make the scrubbers pictured:
